Overview
Your Bhutan itinerary starts with your arrival at Paro Airport, followed by a scenic drive to Thimphu. After settling into your hotel, you’ll have an evening to explore Thimphu’s main street and local crafts. The next day includes visits to key sights in Thimphu, such as the National Library, Textile Museum, and Buddha Point, before an overnight stay in the city.
On Day 3, you’ll travel to Punakha, passing through Dochula Pass and visiting landmarks like Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakhang. The following day features a hike to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten and a visit to Sangchhen Dorji Lhuendrup Lhakhang Nunnery. You’ll return to Paro on Day 5, exploring Simtokha Dzong, Ta Dzong, and Rinpung Dzong. The final day includes a hike to the iconic Taktshang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), and visits to Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang. The trip concludes with your departure from Paro Airport.

Itinerary
Day 1: Paro – Thimpu (Lunch/Dinner)
- Upon arrival at Paro airport from Kathmandu / Bangkok, meet with our representatives.
- Transfer to hotel in Thimpu (1hr 55km)
- Check in and lunch served at the hotel.
- Visit Gongzuo Chorten – the memorial stupa of the third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk popularly known as the father of modern Bhutan.
- Refreshments served before retiring for the day.
- Dinner followed by cultural show program of mask and folk dances for the group.
- Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Thimpu (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Visit the world’s tallest Sitting Buddha (51m) at Kuensel Phodrang in Thimpu.
- Visit the national animal “Takin” at the zoo in Motithang.
- Visit the school of arts and crafts.
- Lunch served at local restaurant.
- Visit the farmers market “Kajaa Throm”
- Visit traditional hand-made paper factory.
- Visit Postal Museum and shop.
- Refreshments served before retiring for the day.
- Dinner at Shambala Restaurant.
- Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 3: Drive to Punakha (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Journey to Punakha (2hr), enroute visit the 108 Druk Wangyel stupas at Dochu – la pass 10,000 ft.
- Continue the journey till you reach Lobesa for lunch at Kuu-Kham Café.
- A short hike 20 minutes to Chimi Lhakhang, the temple of fertility from the road head Sopsokha village.
- Continue journey to Punakha to visit Punakha Dzong.
- Refreshments served before retiring for the day.
- Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Paro (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Retrace the journey to Paro (3 ½ hrs)
- Lunch in Paro at Mountain Café.
- Visit National Museum.
- Visit Rinpung Dzong.
- Refreshments served before retiring for the day.
- Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5: Trip to Haa Valley (Breakfats/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Drive to Haa (2hrs) via Chelela pass (4988m), the highest point between Haa and Paro valley and the rest of the area.
- Today’s drive to Haa is the best part of your trip sd the view is very scenic at Chele la pass and the Haa valley.
- The group will hoist long life prayer flags along the mountain site during your journey to Haa. Our guide will assist you purchase the prayer flags from the shop.
- Continue the journey and enjoy the hot picnic lunch in Haa valley.
- Spend the afternoon in Haa playing archery on traditional bow and arrows to try on your skills.
- Explore the Haa valley.
- Retrace the journey to Paro.
- Refreshments served before retiring for the day.
- Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Excursion to Taksang (Tiger’s Nest) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Early morning go on a excursion to Taksang Monastery, National Icon (the hike to the monastery makes a splendid more than half-day excursion.
- Vegetarian lunch at Taksang cafeteria in return.
- Visit Kichu monastery, one of the oldest sacred temples in Bhutan.
- Group will engage in cooking as the farmhouse family offer cooking classes where visitors can learn to prepare traditional Bhutanese dishes like “Ema Darshi” (chili and cheese) or “Momos” (steamed dumplings)
- Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 7: Departure (Breakfast)
- Early breakfast at the hotel.
- Proceed to the airport.
- Flight to onward destination.
