6D5N WINTER HORSE FESTIVAL 2026 (PRIVATE TOUR)
Overview
This 6-day Mongolia itinerary combines cultural exploration, scenic travel, and a unique winter festival experience. Upon arrival in Ulaanbaatar, enjoy a city tour visiting landmarks like the Gandantegchinlen Monastery and the National Museum, followed by a welcome dinner. Travel east to Khentii Province, stopping at local towns before reaching Batnorov Village, where you’ll experience traditional Mongolian hospitality and an evening dance party with locals.
The highlight of the trip is the Horse Festival, showcasing Mongolian horsemanship, traditional costumes, and cultural performances. You’ll witness events like horse catching, racing, and skill competitions, as well as enjoy a folklore show and visit a nomadic family to learn about their way of life. The journey back to Ulaanbaatar includes a stop at the Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex for panoramic views, followed by shopping and a farewell dinner. The final day concludes with a transfer to the airport for departure, marking the end of an immersive Mongolian adventure.

19 Nov 2026: Day 1 Arrival Ulaanbaatar (Dinner)
- Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.
- Transfer to your hotel for check-in.
- In the afternoon, embark on a city sightseeing tour including Gandantegchinlen monastery and National Museum.
- Enjoy a welcome dinner and overnight stay in hotel.
20 Nov 2026: Day 2 Travel to Khentii Province (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and today travel east to Khentii Province for 330kms.
- Have lunch on the way at local restaurant.
- Reach to Chinggis Town and take a short tour.
- Continue travel to Batnorov Village for 100kms.
- You can enjoy a dance party with local people in a small club.
- Overnight stay in a traditional dwelling Ger.
21 Nov 2026: Day 3 Travel to Horse Festival (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast, enjoy the event programs including horse catching competition and horse racing.
- Official Opening Parade of the Festival starts with the beautiful, dressed Mongolians on horseback (Note that you can also attend this parade.)
- Elegant silver saddles, national costumes, nomad people, horses, surrounding sceneries and splendid horse shows are the image of this winter festival. This could be uncommon opportunity and so colourful images if you photograph.
- After the parade, horse riding skill shows and competitions are being held.
- In the evening enjoy folklore performance. Stay overnight in a traditional dwelling Ger.
22 Nov 2026: Day 4 Horse Festival (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and you will see Mongolian steppe dog’s show and sportive competition.
- Late afternoon you will visit a Nomadic family to learn more in-depth for traditional culture and unique lifestyle.
- Overnight stay in traditional dwelling Ger.
23 Nov 2026: Day 5 Travel to Ulaanbaatar & Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast and travel back to Ulaanbaatar for 430kms, takes 6-7hours.
- On the way stop over at Chinggis Khaan Statue Complex in Tsonjinboldog, the place where Chinggis Khaan had found a golden whip as explained in the history.
- Statue complex is 40m high and visitors can have a panoramic view of the area from the top deck on the horse’s head.
- Continue travel to Ulaanbaatar and shopping.
- Proceed to a farewell dinner.
- Overnight stay at hotel.
24 Nov 2026: Day 6 Departure (Breakfast)
- After breakfast, check out from hotel.
- Transfer to airport for departure.
