Overview
This 6-day itinerary takes you through the best of northern Vietnam, starting with your arrival in Hanoi before embarking on an unforgettable overnight cruise in Halong Bay. After enjoying scenic views, caves, and kayaking in Halong Bay, the journey continues with a return to Hanoi and a night train to Sapa. In Sapa, you’ll explore picturesque villages, experience local culture, and trek through stunning landscapes of terraced rice fields, providing insight into the lives of the Black H’mong and Dzay people.
The trip concludes with a return to Hanoi, where you’ll have time for leisure before your flight back home. From the cultural landmarks of Hanoi to the natural beauty of Halong Bay and the tranquil landscapes of Sapa, this itinerary offers a well-rounded experience of northern Vietnam’s rich heritage and breathtaking scenery.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Hanoi
- Upon arrival at Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport, be welcomed by our driver.
- Transfer to the hotel for check-in (check-in time is 14:00 – early check-in subject to hotel confirmation upon arrival).
- The driver will wait for a maximum of 01 hour after the flight.
- The rest of the day is at your own leisure.
- Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise Overnight (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast at the hotel, a car will pick you up and take you to the meeting point to join other tourists.
- Depart from Hanoi at 8:15 am for Ha Long City by modern bus.
- Board the Junk boat and receive a welcome drink, followed by lunch featuring savory local seafood.
- Check into your cabin and begin cruising around the bay, marveling at the unique karst formations such as Lion, Tea Pot, Toad, and Dau Nguoi (Human Head) islet.
- Explore the Sung Sot cave, also known as the “Amazing Cave,” with plenty of time for swimming and sunbathing, weather permitting.
- Enjoy a wonderful sunset dinner in the beautiful restaurant onboard.
- Retire to the comfort of your cabin for dinner and overnight stay on the Junk Cruise.
Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Night Train to Sapa (Breakfast/Lunch)
- 6:30 – 6:45: Enjoy breakfast on board as the boat cruises to the Natural Preservation Zone.
- Experience kayaking to explore the area around Luon Cave.
- Return to the cruise to refresh and relax before checking out. Bags can be stored in the luggage store.
- Continue the cruise to explore the bay, passing by Ba Hang fishing village, Dog Islet, and more.
- Enjoy lunch on board.
- Disembark at the harbor, Tuan Chau Marina, between 11:00 and 11:30.
- Return to Hanoi and enjoy free time until 21:00 to board the night train to Lao Cai.
- Overnight on the night train (04 persons/cabin).
Day 4: Lao Cai – Cat Cat Village – Shin Chai – Sapa Town (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Pick up at Lao Cai station and transfer to Sapa, which is only 38 km away.
- Enjoy breakfast at a local restaurant.
- Follow the road down to the valley by steps for about 5 km.
- While walking, observe the H’mong villagers working in the paddy fields and tending to their animals, such as chickens, water buffaloes, and pot-bellied pigs.
- Witness the old hydro-electric power station built during the French colonial period in the early 20th century.
- Take a break at a beautiful waterfall along the way.
- Continue walking to Sin Chai village, where you can observe the lifestyle of the black H’mong people, including their weaving and dyeing cloth.
- Return to Sapa for overnight stay in Sapa Town.
Day 5: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Lao Chai – Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch)
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- Embark on a picturesque trek along buffalo paths and trails, passing through several hill tribe villages such as Lao Chai and Ta Van, which are home to Black H’mong and Dzay people.
- Experience stunning scenery and appreciate the beauty of the valley floor as you trek.
- Admire the multi-layered rice terraced fields that cover the walls of the valley.
- Transfer back to Hanoi by Limousine bus, arriving at the hotel around 20:00.
- Overnight stay in Hanoi City.
Day 6: Hanoi – Departure to Kuala Lumpur (Breakfast)
- Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
- Check out of the hotel.
- Transfer to Noi Bai International Airport for your departure flight back home.
