This journey through northern Pakistan combines breathtaking landscapes with cultural exploration, starting and ending in Islamabad. The itinerary covers Skardu, Gilgit, Hunza, and Nagar Valley, featuring iconic sights such as alpine lakes, towering mountain peaks, glaciers, deserts, and historic forts, along with scenic road journeys and short flights through some of the country’s most dramatic regions.
Alongside natural highlights, the tour includes cultural and heritage experiences in both the north and the capital, with visits to traditional villages, local bazaars, and major landmarks in Islamabad. Day 1: Arrive Islamabad
- Arrival in Islamabad Airport, Pakistan.
- Meet and greet with our representatives.
- Dinner and overnight stay at Islamabad.
Day 2: Islamabad – Skardu (1 hour flight – not included) – Gilgit (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Early morning, after hotel check out transfer to Islamabad Airport for flight to Skardu.
- Upon arrival, visit Upper Kachura Lake – Pakistan’s highest natural freshwater lake at 2,500 meters.
- After spending quality time here, continue to Lower Kachura Lake – called Shangri-La Lake. It is an enchanting heart-shaped lake which offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
- Lunch will be served at Tibet restaurant.
- Journey continues by road towards Gilgit (200km, 4-5hrs)
- Along the way, we will enjoy short rest stops and scenic sightseeing at Astak Nala, known for its refreshing mountain streams and greenery, and take in breathtaking valley views at Rundo as well as glimpses of the Haramosh Valley, surrounded by towering peaks and glaciers.
- By evening, arrival in Gilgit will be followed by a delicious dinner and overnight stay at the hotel, concluding a day filled with natural beauty and mountain adventure.
Day 3: Gilgit – Hunza (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- We will begin our journey from Gilgit towards Hunza.
- Along the way, there will be short scenic stops at Guro Nala, a picturesque mountain stream surrounded by lush landscapes, and the Old Silk Road, once part of the ancient trade route that connected this region with China and Central Asia.
- Short stop at the Rakaposhi Viewpoint, where the majestic 7,788 m peak of Rakaposhi can be admired in all its glory.
- Lunch will be served at Rakaposhi Viewpoint, offering a unique dining experience with breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountain.
- After lunch, the journey continues deeper into Hunza Valley.
- Upon arrival in Hunza, visit the historic Altit Fort.
- Over 900 years old, this fort is one of the oldest surviving monuments in the region and offers a glimpse into Hunza’s rich heritage, culture, and architecture.
- Guests will spend quality time exploring the fort and its surroundings before heading to the hotel.
- Check-in at the hotel in Hunza, followed by dinner and an overnight stay, concluding a day filled with history, culture, and natural beauty.
Day 4: Hunza Attabad Lake, Hussaini Bridge, Passu Cones (90km, 3-4hrs) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Visit Attabad Lake (boating) – The lake is 14kms long,109 meters deep and is one of the most beautiful lakes in Pakistan.
- Next, continue to the famous Hussaini Suspension Bridge – known as the most dangerous bridge in the world, Hussaini Suspension Bridge is only one of many precarious rope bridges in Northern Pakistan. It has 399 steps.
- Then to Passu Cones – sharp, pyramid-shaped peaks that are among the most photographed mountains in Hunza.
- Stop at Gircha Village for lunch at Café de Khunjerab, surrounded by breathtaking mountain views.
- After lunch visit Sost Bazar for shopping after shopping back to Hunza check into hotel dinner and overnight stay at Hunza.
Day 5: Hunza, Nagar Valley, Hopper Gilgit (150km, 5-6hrs)(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Drive towards Nagar Valley, making a short stop at Nagar Proper, the old state capital and district headquarters, where guests can enjoy photography and capture the scenic charm of the area.
- The journey continues to Hopper Valley, a beautiful side valley of Nagar.
- Upon arrival, we will visit the impressive Hopper Glacier, surrounded by towering peaks and breathtaking landscapes.
- Enjoy the stunning view from the Kaple Peak viewpoint, offering panoramic vistas of snow-capped mountains.
- Lunch will be served at Kaple Restaurant, overlooking the valley’s natural beauty.
- After lunch, we will begin our return journey toward Gilgit Short stay on the way rest area arrival at Gilgit Dinner and overnight stay at Gilgit.
Day 6: Gilgit – Skardu (260km, 5-6hrs) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Short stay at Askat Nala.
- Lunch at Astak Nala and then drive toward Skardu.
- Upon arrival at Skardu, visit Sarfaranga Desert – This unique desert features stunning sand dunes, surrounded by towering mountains and the Indus River, creating a breathtaking landscape.
- Then proceed to Shigar Fort – Known as “Fong-Khar” or “The Fort on the Rock”, it serves as a popular tourist destination, offering stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains.
- Dinner and Overnight stay in Skardu.
Day 7: Skardu – Islamabad (1 hour flight – not included) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- Transfer to airport departure from Skardu to Islamabad.
- Upon arrival at Islamabad, proceed to lunch.
- After lunch, visit Shah Faisal Mosque – largest mosque in Pakistan and fifth largest mosque in the world, the largest mosque outside Middle East and the largest within South Asia.
- Visit Golra Sharif Railway Station – The station lies on the main line of the Pakistan Railways which connects the rest of the country in the South and Peshawar in the north.
- After that visit F6 & F7 Market Safa Gold Mall for shopping.
- Dinner and check in hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8: Islamabad (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel and check out.
- Visit Pakistan Monument – a national and heritage monument located on the western Shakarparian Hills.
- Visit Lok Virsa Heritage Museum – The museum spans approximately 60,000 sq ft and features a diverse collection of pottery, textiles, jewelry, and sculptures, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Pakistan.
- Lunch and visit Centaurus shopping Mall to spend some time.
- Dinner and transfer to airport for departure.
