Overview
This 6-day Bhutan journey highlights the cultural, spiritual, and natural treasures of Paro, Thimphu, and Punakha. Travellers begin with an introduction to Bhutanese traditions in Thimphu, exploring museums, monasteries, local markets, and iconic landmarks such as Buddha Point and the King’s Memorial Chorten. The experience continues through scenic mountain passes to Punakha, where majestic fortresses, charming villages, and serene valleys provide insight into Bhutan’s rich heritage.
The tour concludes in Paro with visits to historic dzongs, the National Museum, and the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched dramatically on a cliffside. Throughout the itinerary, guests enjoy immersive cultural encounters, gentle hikes, and panoramic landscapes, ending with a seamless departure after a memorable and enriching Bhutan adventure.

- 5-night accommodation on Double / Twin sharing basis as per hotels mentioned above or similar.
- Full board basis starting with lunch on Day 1 and ending with breakfast on Day 6.
- All transfer / sightseeing using air-conditioned vehicle.

Day 1: Paro – Thimpu (2hrs) (Lunch/Dinner)
- Upon arrival at Paro airport from Kathmandu / Bangkok, meet with our representatives.
- Drive to Thimpu, the capital town of Bhutan with enroute stop at Chuzom.
- Shortly before reaching Chuzom, you will see on your left Tamchog Lhakhang, “the temple of the excellent horse”.
- After arriving in Thimphu, check into the hotel and lunch at Simply Bhutan Museum, a living museum and a unique project that preserves the culture and tradition of Bhutan.
- Evening an exploratory walk around Thimphu Main Street and market area.
- Visit the Local Crafts Bazaar, to browse through example of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts.
- Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu (Altitude 2400m).
Day 2: Thimpu (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- Breakfast at hotel.
- After breakfast, sightseeing in Thimphu valley including visit to the following: The National Library, housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts, the Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as the Painting School)
- Later visit Textile Museum, which provides insight into Bhutan’s one of the most distinct art forms.
- After lunch visit Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang).
- You can pay your obeisance and offer prayers to the Buddha, the largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley.
- Visit to King’s Memorial Chorten continuously circumambulated by people, murmuring mantras and spinning their prayer wheels.
- Later visit to Trashi Chhoe Dzong.
- Overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha (70km / 2.5hrs) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast, check-out from the hotel & drive to Punakha enroute visiting Dochula Pass (Altitude 3080m).
- After checking into hotel, proceed to visit Punakha Dzong.
- Later in the day excursion to Chimi Lhakhang (from hotel it is about 15 minutes’ drive till motorable road and then walk starts through paddy fields and villages – This is total about 1½ hour walk, including both way.
- Evening can be spent exploring Punakha Village located right on the bank of river.
- Overnight at hotel in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha – Paro (115km / 3hr 30min) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast, drive to Paro along scenic highway, enroute visit Simtokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the country built in 1627 which now houses the School for Buddhist studies.
- On arrival in Paro, check into the hotel.
- After lunch, proceed to visit Ta Dzong, originally built as Watchtower, which now houses National Museum.
- Ta Dzong visit immediately followed by a short walk down the trail to visit Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), meaning (“fortress of the heap of jewels”), which has a long and fascinating history.
- Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 5: Paro (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
- After breakfast excursion to Taktsang Monastery or Tiger’s Nest (approx. 5 hours walk): It is one of the most famous of Bhutan’s monasteries, perched on the side of a cliff 900m above the Paro valley floor.
- Evening, visit the 7th century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples built in the Himalayas by Tibetan King, Songtsen Gampo.
- Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 6: Departure (Breakfast)
- After early breakfast at hotel, transfer to airport for departure.
