Overview
Sepilok, located near Sandakan in Sabah, is home to the world-renowned Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where visitors can witness these gentle primates up close in their natural habitat. A short journey away, the Kinabatangan River offers one of the best wildlife experiences in Borneo, with chances to spot proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, hornbills, and other exotic wildlife along its lush riverbanks.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Sandakan – Sepilok Orang Utan + Bornean Sun Bear – Kinabatangan River (Lunch/Dinner)
- Meet upon arrival at SDK airport (Arrival 0800am)
- Transfer to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, watching one of the nature’s most endangered animal species, the ‘Orang Utan’ or ‘Man of the Jungle’, in local language swing from branches to branches towards to the feeding station in the forest. Watch the scheduled video show programmes (25 mins), visit
to the Exhibition Hall. - After Sepilok, proceed to Sun Bear Conservation Center to see the world’s smallest bear in its natural environment. Lunch enroute at SJR.
- After lunch, drive overland to Bilit, Kinabatangan River. Arrive at Bilit around 1430hrs, check into your accommodation.
- By 1530hrs, have afternoon tea with some local bites. After a short briefing by the nature guide, take an afternoon cruise (4.00pm) along the Kinabatangan River (Sabah’s longest river at 560km) where you can observe wildlife on the boat itself.
- Dinner & overnight stay at Bilit Adventure Lodge.
Day 2: Kinabatangan River – Sandakan City Tour – Departure (Breakfast/Lunch)
- Wake up to the calls of gibbons & birds and start the day with an early river cruise at about 0600hrs.
- After the 1 hours boat cruise, proceed back to Bilit Lodge for breakfast.
- By 0830 hrs, depart Bilit for Sandakan for lunch
- Afternoon, depart for Sandakan Nature City Tour. The City Tour includes a visit to Sandakan Memorial Park, Puu Jih Shih Buddhist Temple, located on a steep hilltop where you can have a magnificent view overlooking Sandakan Bay & Town Centre. Then, continue to one of the oldest church in Sabah, St. Michael’s Church where you can see a century old building where Christianity is preached. Drive to the Central Market where you can see the local produce and fresh seafood being sold. Visit to the Agnes Keith Museum to learn about the life in the colonial days of Agnes & Harry Keith. Harry was the first conservator of the Forestry Department in Sabah. Final stop at the nearby English Tea House where you may have another spectacular view of Sandakan Nature City.

- After tour, transfer to Sandakan Airport for flight departure (Suggested after 6pm).

TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The rates provided are based strictly on the minimum number of persons specified in the request above. If the actual number of persons is fewer or reduced, the rate will need to be recalculated and re-quoted accordingly.
- This is solely a quotation. No reservation has been made until we receive your written acceptance of the quotation and the deposit to secure the quoted rates.
- Price is subject to any surcharge including peak season surcharge/ weekend/ public holiday surcharge.
- Confirmation is subject to availability of both hotels / land transfer arrangements.
- Deposit of 50% is required upon booking confirmation and final payment to be paid in full one month before arrival.
- Change of travel date is allowed and must be made 2 weeks prior to check-in date and is subject to room availability.
- Cancellation procedure: Travel arrangements for any member of the party may be cancelled at any time by written notice by the person who made the booking.
- If notice of cancellation is received by Star Travel more than 30 days prior to the guided holiday departure date, 20% will be retained along for Star Travel’s Cancellation Fee Waiver payment.
- If full payment is not received one month prior to arrival date, Star Travel has the right to cancel your reservation. Star Travel will not be responsible for any lost reservations.
- If a member of the party made a cancellation, resulting in a change of room type (for example, from Twin to Single), the charges for the new room type will be shared among the remaining members of the party
- However, cancellation policies from third parties, such as resorts or other suppliers, may be subject to their respective penalties.
- Illness or Absence – The guest is responsible for any expenses incurred due to early return. There will be no refund for absence or early departure from a guided holiday.
